This special rediscovers the lost and frightening world of night as it existed for our ancestors, uncovering all the things, real and imagined, that caused us to fear the dark. Explore all the reasons people feared the dark in different eras by going to places around the globe where real night still exists, and investigate what happens when the lights go out in the modern world via blackouts.
