Dr. Kiera Lindsey has a passion for Australian history and storytelling. She has worked in the Australian film and television industries and hosted her own history program on ABC Radio. She was the winner of the inaugural Greg Dening History Prize and has also received awards for her teaching.
In 2016 Kiera published her first book, The Convict’s Daughter with Australia’s largest independent publishing house, Allen & Unwin, and the film rights have also been optioned. Critics describe The Convict’s Daughter as ‘path-breaking’ in the way that it ‘fearlessly carves a new path through history and fiction’ while also being both ‘meticulously researched’ and ‘gloriously unputdownable’.
Kiera is currently writing her next book with Allen & Unwin while also working as a Senior Lecturer in Australian history at the University of South Australia. She lives in Sydney with her husband Brye and their red heeler, Mungo von Marshall.
