Race for the White House

From executive producers Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti. Race for the White House is a thrilling new six-part docu-series, also narrated by Spacey, that captures the drama of how a high-stakes presidential election can turn on a single issue and so much more. Each episode will tell the story of one iconic campaign for President of the United States, using rare archival footage featuring interviews with candidates, key players, historians and experts, along with contemporary archive and stylized drama.

By exploring key themes, issues, turning points and strategies we aim to shed light on the changing nature of political campaigning, and reveal what impact these elections had on the course of American history.

The six elections are:

1988 – George H. W Bush vs Michael Dukakis
1828 – Andrew Jackson vs John Quincy Adams
1960 – John F. Kennedy vs Richard Nixon
1860 – Stephen Douglas vs Abraham Lincoln
1948 – Harry Truman vs Thomas Dewey
1992 – Bill Clinton vs George H. Bush
