Episode 1

Success will depend the ability of C Company to cope with a chaotic drop, fierce enemy resistance and a perilous naval evacuation. A first for the British Army, this airborne raid would become the first battle honour for the prestigious Parachute Regiment.

 


Episode 2

Brecourt Manor

‘WWII’s Most Daring Raids – Brecourt Manor’ combines dramatic reconstruction, weapons demonstrations, expert analysis, and cutting edge computer game graphics to recreate Easy Company’s D-Day assault on a German artillery position. In this episode, a handful of exhausted American paratroopers prepare to assault four German howitzers, trained on the causeways leading off Utah Beach where thousands of American infantrymen are starting to come ashore. Lieutenant Dick Winter’s men are massively outnumbered, but they have no choice: for D-Day to succeed, they must make sure their fellow soldiers can get across the crowded beach.

In the humiliating aftermath of Dunkirk, Churchill ordered a force of commandos capable of taking the fight to Hitler’s door. On 27th December, 1941 the men of Operation Archery did just that. Infiltrating a Norwegian fjord and overcoming entrenched resistance in order to destroy an important German garrison and prove that Britain was down, but not out!

WWII’s Most Daring Raids – Storming Mussolini’s Island’ combines dramatic reconstruction, weapons demonstrations, expert analysis and cutting edge computer game graphics to follow the dramatic story of the US Army Rangers during the invasion of Sicily. Storming the beaches at night, the lightly armed Rangers must capture the fortified port of Gela and hold it against repeated, armored counter-attacks. Barely equipped to defend themselves against air and tank assaults, the Rangers know that retreat is not an option. The success of the invasion of Sicily needs ports like Gela in Allied hands – no matter the cost.

Commanded by Major David Stirling, these British Special Forces pioneers must drive hundreds of miles across hostile territory before reaching their target: Bouerat in Libya. There will be plenty of temping targets, but the British must be quick: their explosives are primed to detonate at 2.30am and they must make their escape before the enemy are alerted.

‘WWII’s Most Daring Raids – Secret Weapon Sabotage’ combines dramatic reconstruction, weapons demonstrations, expert analysis, and cutting edge computer game graphics to tell the story of the high risk mission to ensure that Hitler could never get his hands on a nuclear weapon. Returning to their occupied homeland during one of the harshest winters on record, these Norwegian agents must infiltrate a guarded industrial plant, destroy the stocks of heavy water held there and escape back to Sweden. With the Germans on the alert and the agents operating at the absolute limit, success will require a masterclass in espionage!
